Wolverine Rug Duster

Centrum Force® is the name behind the Wolverine Rug Duster. The founders of Centrum Force are Tom Monahn and Greg Turcotte.

Since 1996, Greg had been building equipment for the rug washing industry. He constructed electric hoist drying towers and portable rug racks for drying area rugs as well as press roll wringers and full-size dusting machines.

Tom began building drying towers and the Soil Separator, a Cadillac® style dusting machine, in 2004.

Both men have their own rug washing facilities that function as testing grounds for all the equipment they build. They believe "If it can't stand the rigorous testing of day to day use, it isn't good enough, and changes must be made."

Not satisfied with simply cloning other machines, they began to innovate and build their own line of equipment. They strengthened the rug drying towers with heavier gauge wire rope and hoist systems, making their own operations safer and more efficient. Portable racks were constructed with two-piece steel poles for easier shipping. but, more importantly, they were stronger than others available and had far less chance of damaging the rugs than cheaper wooden poles being suggested.

Tom and Greg then moved on to portable rug dusters. Until they came into the picture, machines such the Hild which ceased manufacturing, and then subsequently the Tri-State and others had simply been imitated without adding any improvements.

Greg had seen a portable unit at a rug washing school in 1999 and thought it would be an asset. However, at that time, there was not enough demand for the product. But, by 2007, he and Tom decided to make improvements that customers were demanding. The Wolverine Portable Rug Duster was created. They designed a handle with 180 degrees of movement, allowing users to flip it when they wanted to go in the opposite direction. For easier and safer handling in the event of the rug being caught in the machine, a trigger switch was added. A trouble-free Baldor motor and faster rotation of the straps, improved the unit's soil separation capability. Wheels were replaced with rollers to glide across the rug and allow the operator to roll on the fringe, while securing the fringes from damage that had occurred with predecessors such as the Hild and the subsequent knock-off copies.

Manufacturing the entire unit from heavier gauge materials made it more stable and significantly reduced vibration and noise.

Tom and Greg are dedicated to producing the finest tools for the most demanding rug washers. As they say, "Centrum Force equipment is built by rug washers, for rug washers."
